Effective date: 28 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how VizWhale collects, uses, stores and shares information when you visit vizwhale.com, join the beta, or use the VizWhale app (together, the "Service"). VizWhale is operated by The Pet WellBeing Company Pty Ltd, Australia ("we", "us"). If you have questions, email support@vizwhale.com.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Beta sign-up: your email address and, if you choose, your name, the platforms you post on and your main handle.
- Account: your email address and sign-in details when you create a VizWhale account.
- Support: anything you send us when you email us.
Information from accounts you connect
When you choose to connect a social account, you sign in with that platform and approve the permissions VizWhale asks for. Depending on the platform, we receive:
| Platform | What we receive |
|---|---|
| Instagram (professional accounts) | Account ID, username, name, profile picture, follower and media counts; your posts, reels and stories (IDs, captions, media type, timestamps, permalinks, thumbnails); and insights such as views, reach, impressions, likes, comments, shares, saves and follower growth. |
| Facebook Pages | Pages you choose to share, Page name, ID and picture; Page posts; and Page and post insights such as reach, impressions, engagement and follower counts. |
| YouTube | Channel ID, title, thumbnail and public statistics; your videos (IDs, titles, publish dates, thumbnails); and YouTube Analytics metrics such as views, watch time, likes, comments and subscriber changes. |
We also store the access tokens the platform gives us so we can refresh your data. VizWhale only requests read-only permissions. We never post, comment, message, like or change anything on your accounts.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting providers keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to run the Service securely. We do not use advertising trackers.
2. How we use information
- To provide the Service: show your analytics on your dashboard, compare posts and track trends over time.
- To run the beta: send your invite, product updates and service messages.
- To keep the Service working and secure: troubleshoot problems, prevent abuse and keep connections refreshed.
- To answer your questions and support requests.
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or use your connected account data to train general-purpose AI models.
3. Google and YouTube data
VizWhale uses YouTube API Services to show you your YouTube channel analytics. By connecting YouTube you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
VizWhale's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular, we use Google user data only to provide and improve the user-facing features of VizWhale, we do not transfer it except as needed to provide the Service, comply with law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with notice to you, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not allow humans to read it unless you ask us to (for support), it is needed for security or legal reasons, or it has been aggregated and anonymised.
You can remove VizWhale's access to your Google account at any time from the Google security settings page, or by disconnecting YouTube inside VizWhale. YouTube data we store is refreshed or deleted at least every 30 days.
4. Meta (Instagram and Facebook) data
VizWhale uses the Meta Graph APIs to read insights for Instagram professional accounts and Facebook Pages you choose to connect. We use this data only to show it back to you in VizWhale, in line with the Meta Platform Terms. You can remove VizWhale's access at any time in your Facebook settings under Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations (or Apps and websites), in Instagram under Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites, or by disconnecting the account inside VizWhale. To have your data deleted, see our Data Deletion page.
5. How we share information
We share information only with service providers who help us run VizWhale, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Supabase — database, sign-in and storage (hosted in Sydney, Australia).
- Cloudflare — website hosting, security and email routing.
- Email delivery provider — to send invites and service emails.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a business sale or merger (in which case this policy will continue to apply to your data). We never sell your personal information.
6. How long we keep information
- Connected account data is kept while the account is connected so we can show your history. When you disconnect an account we stop collecting from it and delete its stored data and tokens within 30 days.
- Your VizWhale account is kept until you delete it or ask us to. We then delete your data within 30 days, except where we must keep something by law.
- Beta sign-up details are kept until the beta ends or you ask us to remove them.
7. Security and where data is stored
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access tokens are stored securely and are never shown in the app. Access to production data is limited to the people who need it to run the Service. Our main database is in Sydney, Australia; some providers (such as Cloudflare) may process data in other countries, with appropriate safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your information and will tell you promptly if a breach affects you.
8. Your choices and rights
You can:
- disconnect any connected account inside VizWhale or from the platform's settings;
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it;
- ask us to delete your data (see Data Deletion);
- unsubscribe from beta and product emails using the link in any email.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. If you are in the EU, UK or another region with its own privacy laws (such as California), you may have additional rights, including the right to object or restrict processing and to data portability; we will honour those rights. To make a request, email support@vizwhale.com. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not happy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or your local data protection authority.
9. Cookies
vizwhale.com does not use advertising or analytics cookies. The VizWhale app uses essential browser storage only to keep you signed in. Our hosting provider may set strictly necessary security cookies.
10. Children
VizWhale is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as VizWhale grows. We will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, let you know by email or in the app before they take effect.
